It has the standard slide legend with commercial "crown/N" proofs on the slide, chamber and barrel. The serial number is stamped vertically on the right frame side. It has the standard two-line, one block slide markings followed by "Mod PPK". This desirable example is even more unusual in that it was issued under a Police contract as it has the small Eagle/C Police proof on the left side of the frame. It is estimated that a few thousand PPKs were actually produced in the block of serial numbers, before deciding to revert back to the use of the 100,000 serial number blocks and then began using the "K" suffix for the PPK on the end for PPK pistols.

At end of 1938 when the Walther factory reached the last serial number 999,999 for the PPK contracts, they opted to continued with production using seven-digit range serial numbers. This is a scarce example of a Walther PPK pistol that falls into the production block using a "seven-digit" serial number range.
